Jennifer Clark

While her legal expertise alone makes her a strong candidate for Connect CRE’s 2021 Lawyers in Real Estate Awards, Jennifer Clark’s leadership, initiative and influence across the entirety of The RMR Group demonstrates why she is most deserving of this recognition. She is widely recognized throughout the company as a shrewd business strategist, a decisive steward during times of uncertainty and a champion for inclusion and employee development. 

As executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of The RMR Group, Clark significantly influences the strategic direction of RMR and its clients. As an executive leader, Clark has been a driving force in RMR’s growth into a leading alternative asset manager with $32 billion of assets under management, including nearly 2,100 properties and more than 600 real estate professionals in more than 30 offices nationwide.

As general counsel, she leads a 27-person legal team and is responsible for all legal matters affecting RMR and its clients, who rely on Clark for innovative and practical legal solutions that achieve their business imperatives while providing adequate legal protection and risk mitigation.

Clark is a member of RMR’s executive operating committee, which determines the strategic direction of RMR. She also sits on the capital allocation committee, which is responsible for decision making on all potential acquisition and disposition transactions for all RMR managed REITs.

As corporate secretary of all the RMR managed companies, she serves as the chief governance officer.

Additionally, Clark serves on the boards of The RMR Group, Inc., Office Properties Income Trust, Five Star Senior Living and Sonesta International Hotels Corporation.
