Bethany LaFlam

Bethany LaFlam is an entrepreneur, a seasoned deal lawyer, a mother and a visionary. With more than 20 years’ experience practicing law, LaFlam has leveraged that expertise into her business life. While her current role as managing partner of Premier Law Group focuses primarily on real estate syndications and funds, LaFlam began her career in Big Law at the prestigious downtown Los Angeles law firm of Quinn Emanuel. Pursuing her dream of running her own business, she later launched a boutique business law firm in Newport Beach, advising clients on both legal and strategic matters, and representing businesses on startup, mergers and acquisitions and securities. To further develop her entrepreneurial passions, LaFlam merged her practice into a mid-market Chicago based firm, Much Shelist, where she ran the firm’s California corporate practice.  

LaFlam’s clients have ranged from real estate syndicators and developers to aerospace, oil & gas services, medical services and various technology industries. Serving as a strategist to develop sustainable business models, advising on raising capital, and preparing for successful exits, she was able to apply her legal knowledge to practical business settings. Bethany has consulted clients on commercialization and monetization, with a specific focus on sports and music tech.  

LaFlam grew up in Northeastern Ohio in a working-class family. Putting herself through Bowling Green State University for undergraduate and then Pepperdine University Law School, she applied that Midwestern work ethic to earn her way to becoming an advocate for other women and underserved communities. Being a role model to her daughter, though, is the driving force behind everything LaFlam pursues. Satisfying her desire to serve, LaFlam has also been an advisor to and held leadership and board roles with multiple non-profit corporations, including as a founding board member of Team Kids, Inc.
