Chris Neumann

Chris Neumann joined Origin Investments’ investment management division roughly two years ago, in essence to assist Origin’s portfolio manager in preparation of annual asset business plans that set clear expectations for operating goals and analyze strategies for enhancing performance and differentiating the resident experience.

At the outset, Neumann was seen as a “cc” on communications—i.e. reports and emails—from the joint-venture partners and external relationships engaged to execute strategy. However, he quickly demonstrated an ability to lead and manage these relationships as a means for enhancing accountability, productivity and return on investment. 

Neumann orchestrated that shift in perception by preparing and researching tirelessly, developing expertise by soliciting the perspectives of internal and external sources, and ultimately making his voice heard. Today, he’s a valued member of the team and is regularly sought out by vendors to collaboratively brainstorm ideas that can enhance operational efficiencies and produce tangible results—and returns—at the property and portfolio levels. He evolved from merely an acquaintance to a trusted partner by influencing others through clear and concise expression of ideas and information in verbal and written form.
