Commercial real estate power brokers Tony Arellano and Devlin Marinoff are not just two of Miami’s most prolific and creative dealmakers. The DWNTWN Realty Advisors co-founders and managing principals are also shaping the future of the city and its urban core neighborhoods.

The deals Arellano and Marinoff completed in 2021 helped position Miami as an emerging technology hub and the “capital of capital.” For instance, Arellano represented Wynwood Annex developers Related Group and East End Capital in a landmark March 2021 office lease with venture capital giant Founders Fund, led by PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.

Arellano and Marinoff also brokered the March 2021 sale of a distressed $37.2 million loan secured by the iconic Security Building in downtown Miami.

Other notable 2021 deals completed by Arellano and Marinoff include:

  • The $13.3 million sale of the Wynwood Arcade retail and restaurant building to Black Lion Investment Group
  • The $10.5 million sale of a North Miami site that was once home to “The Birdcage,” “Miami Vice,” “There’s Something About Mary” and many other films and television shows. Fuse Group purchased the 2.8-acre property
  • The $6.5 million sale of a Miami Design District retail building to a prominent Australian furniture designer
  • The $5.7 million sale of a Midtown Miami commercial building to a high-profile music label executive and songwriter
  • The $6.4 million sale of a Wynwood retail building that will be repositioned into creative offices

The power brokers are poised to have a record-breaking year in 2022, with more than $100 million in pending transactions expected to close in just the first two months of the year.

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
