Jeff Black

A 15-year veteran of Colliers’ Boston office, Jeff Black has expanded an already monumental capital markets group into a nationally recognized practice. As Executive Vice President and co-head of the Institutional Debt & Equity Group for Colliers Boston, Black guides his clients across some of New England’s most complex financing and equity placement transactions across office, hotel, retail, and multifamily investment property types.

Black and his team have led the arrangement of more than $875 million of debt and equity transactions in 2020 across all product types. He has been named #1 Colliers Debt & Equity Producer from 2018 through 2020 and is a perennial member of Colliers’ Everest Club, which recognizes top producers among the top 10% of Colliers professionals across the Americas.

Notable transactions in 2020 included the arrangement of joint venture equity and construction financing for the first phase of The Green District, a 235-unit, Class A multifamily community in Marlborough. True to its name, the Green District will be a leader in energy efficiency with several environmentally conscious features including sustainably sourced building materials, low-maintenance landscaping, Energy-Star appliances, photovoltaic solar panels, bike storage, and resident composting programs.

Black was also involved in the debt arrangement of Whittall Mills, where loan proceeds were used to carefully reposition a historic property from an abandoned mill building to a new office for the Department of Children & Families (DCF). This new location for DCF offers newer facilities and easier access to public transportation, which is vital to the communities and families that rely on their services.
