Mitch Clarfield, Josh Braceros, Ryan Greer and Meghan Varga

Vice chairman Mitch Clarfield is a 36-year industry veteran and one of the most prolific originators in the business. Since establishing Newmark’a Santa Monica office in 2001, he has grown the office to more than 17 employees with average annual debt originations of more than $1.7 billion.

He is joined by senior managing director Josh Braceros and managing directors Ryan Greer and Meghan Varga. This team’s impact in the sector is driven by their significant volume of transactions, having originated more than $2.1 billion in 2020 alone including $1 billion in highly structured credit facility transactions. In 2020, the team financed more than $750 million in multifamily loans in California including a $168 million transaction and a $97 million transaction. This is an impressive feat, notwithstanding the challenges that 2020 and the pandemic brought upon the industry.

Clarfield also created and runs Newmark Knight Frank’s analyst training program which was originally based in the Santa Monica and Newport Beach offices but is now being deployed firm wide.
