Chef Jimmy Bannos has run his Heaven on Sebven restauarnt at the Garland Building in downtown Chicago for 39 years

Longtime Restaurant Mainstay on Jewelers Row Hits the Market

Chef Jimmy Bannos has run his popular Creole-style Heaven on Seven restaurant from the seventh floor of Chicago’s historic Garland Building for 39 years. Now, Bannos intends to sell both the space and the business, with the help of @properties Commercial broker Larry Cohn.

The 2,770-square-foot commercial condominium at 111 N. Wabash Ave. in the Jewelers Row district features two suites: the 2,304-square-foot restaurant and an adjacent 466-square-foot office space.  All furniture, fixtures and equipment are included in the $450,000 asking price. For an additional price, Bannos is offering his restaurant business, name, recipes and logo.

“The Garland Building, and to a larger extent Jewelers Row, is an ecosystem where the businesses tend to support one another,” said Cohn. “That’s one of the factors that contributed to Heaven on Seven’s longevity and success, and certainly Jimmy’s cooking and the atmosphere he created brought people in from far and wide.”
